The 6th State of Logistics Survey 2009 titled "Logistics Value and Cost Driving Macro and Micro-Economic Change Towards Global Competitiveness and Sustainability" was launched by the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and IMPERIAL Logistics at a breakfast event on 16 March 2010 at the JHB Country Club. A press announcement providing an introduction to the 6th Survey can be downloaded here.
Since the publication of the first State of Logistics survey in 2004, this document has become one of the premier references for logistics and supply chain management in South Africa. The research provides valuable support to decision-makers in the development of strategically relevant policies, and in making strategic infrastructure investment and maintenance decisions that will facilitate sustainable industry and small business development. Time-series data also enables the success of these interventions to be monitored over time.
IMPERIAL Logistics is the principal sponsor of the Survey which is carried out by the CSIR and the University of Stellenbosch.
