As Platinum Sponsor of the 2010 SAPICS Conference for the second consecutive year, IMPERIAL Logistics brought “fast moving, forward thinking” to Africa’s premier educational and networking event, which was hosted in collaboration with the Supply Chain Council (SCC).

The conference agenda delivered critical logistics and supply chain management debate and knowledge sharing during a time that, due to the economic downturn, required LSPs to increasingly and at a significantly higher level contend with factors such as unpredictable demand, volatility in fuel costs and currency valuation, and excess inventory.

IMPERIAL Logistics’ contribution included presentations on ‘greening transportation in the supply chain’ and ‘supply chain network “what if?” scenarios made easy’, as well as ‘deploying technology to drive efficiency through standardisation of business processes across a diverse multi site and multi geography organisation’.

We reviewed the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Global Supply Chain Risk survey, which is sponsored in South Africa by IMPERIAL Logistics, as well as facilitated workshops and ideas exchange sessions, contributed to panel discussions and showcased our solutions at the exhibition.
