History of Business

Broco was established in 1998. In its aim to become a leading logistics management company, Broco grew rapidly and was acquired by IMPERIAL Logistics in 2004. IMPERIAL Logistics holds majority shareholding in Broco and currently owns 82% of the company.

Core Business

Broco is a non-asset based logistics management company. It offers cost-effective logistics solutions by outsourcing asset-based logistics services to reliable and dedicated 3rd third-party service providers, both within the IMPERIAL Logistics stable and outside. Logistics management means more than mere outsourcing to 3rd third-party service providers – it means managing the right combination of service providers in such a way that the resulting service offering delivers a complete logistics solution.

Service Offering

The Broco service offering provides a sustainable and cost effective transport solution. Being a non-asset based company means Broco is not restricted or limited by the capital and capacity restraints of its own assets. Broco’s logistics capacity and service offering is build upon outsourcing its clients’ logistics needs to a network of dedicated and cost effective logistics service providers (LSP’s). More importantly, being part of IMPERIAL Logistics gives Broco access to the services of all asset-based companies within the group. Some of Broco’s most successful projects are those where they leverage the full scope of IMPERIAL Logistics’ service offering by combining and managing the services of sister companies into an end-to-end logistics solution. As such Broco becomes the interface between its clients and IMPERIAL and acts a lead logistics partner (LLP).

Outsourcing offers the flexible capacity to meet annual consumer driven spikes in logistics or transport demand. So called ‘peaks and valleys’ are especially prevalent in the FMCG industry in periods leading up to Easter and Christmas.

Broco’s extended delivery footprint allows for customer network alignment and the identification of synergies between customers. The service is delivered through a centralised operational approach, which through efficient operational execution and management, leverages proven operational expertise and best fit information technology (IT).
